New Novel Class - "The Mwili Wavizi - The Hunters of Sayarii"

The Mwili Wavizi

The Hunters of Sayarii

“We were the quiet between the creature’s breath and its death — the stillness before the strike, and the study that followed.”
— Field Notes of Mtembea Ziwa K’Lairi, Bara Kusini Frontier, 1276 A.F.

Across the dunes and deep jungles of Sayarii, where ancient bones whisper beneath the sands and the beasts themselves are believed to be the echoes of lost gods, there walks a singular breed of hunter — the Mwili Wavizi.

They do not kill for glory.
They kill to understand.

Each Mwili Wavizi is part warrior, part naturalist, and part alchemist — a student of living weaponry and the forbidden biology of Thaumaturgy. Where others see monsters, the Wavizi see lessons: muscle that remembers magic, bone that stores heat, glands that shimmer with unspent storms. Their craft lies in the careful preservation of these fragments — a discipline equal parts science and faith — and in turning what is monstrous into something wieldable.

Over years of study and battle, the hunter changes. Their body begins to echo their prey: skin hardens, reflexes quicken, eyes gleam with alien color. The tools of their trade — hooks, traps, blades, and masks — are no longer mere instruments, but extensions of living knowledge.

In the cities, they are feared.
In the wilds, they are legend.

Class Overview

The Mwili Wavizi class introduces a full mechanical and narrative framework for Sayarii’s monster hunters.
Within this discipline, players will find:

  • Complete Level Progression (1–20) — Core abilities, growth, and advanced preservation techniques.

  • Four Distinct Disciplines — Each defining a path of expertise: from butchery to feathered insight, from trapsmiths to blood-fueled warriors.

  • Weapon Mastery Integration — Updated for the 2025 Player’s Handbook ruleset.

  • Regional Specializations — Jungle, desert, ocean, forest, and marsh — each granting unique advantages in their native terrain.

  • Harvesting & Preservation Rules — Mechanics for extracting magical properties from slain creatures, crafting biomagical gear, and storing thaumaturgic essence.

The Philosophy of the Hunt

To the Mwili Wavizi, every kill is an act of reverence.
They are the archivists of the living — and sometimes, the dying.

Each hunter keeps a record of their work, a field chronicle known as a Kitabu cha Mwili — the Book of Flesh. Every entry is written not in ink, but in the blood of their quarry, mixed with sand or ash to preserve its color. Within these journals lie anatomical sketches, field observations, and measured notes on behavior and anatomy.

To scholars and artificers, a true Kitabu cha Mwili is priceless — a biological record of creatures few have seen and fewer have survived. Many such books vanish with their authors, lost to storms, beasts, or time. The few that remain are traded in secret, their pages dark with the proof of a lifetime’s hunt.
